Department of eleCtroniCS aND information technologies

About us

The employees of the department deal with the development of electronic systems for industrial automation, data acquisition and signal processing (e.g. microprocessor control systems, industrial control and data buses and field programmable gate arrays). Other research areas are special electronics for physics experiments (especially for particle accelerators and detectors in cooperation with CERN), radiation-tolerant systems for small technological satellites, reliable and safe electronics systems for transport, electronics for sensing biological signals and monitoring the human condition, low-power supply and charging systems, electronics for mechanical engineering and material diagnostics. We also control the missions of two Czech technological nanosatellites VZLUSAT from our ground control station on the roof of the faculty. In the field of information technology and audio-visual systems, we deal with hardware development, signal processing and measurement of technical parameters of audio and low-frequency technology, image technology, radio communication technology, principles of network communication and monitoring the quality of provided services.

We ensure courses in the bachelor study program Electronics and Information Technologies and in master's study programs Power systems and electricity, Electronics and information technologies, Materials and technologies for electrical engineering and Applied electrical engineering. We also ensure doctoral studies in the field of Electronics.

We cooperate significantly with both domestic and foreign academic institutions and industry partners (eg Škoda Auto a.s., CERN Zurich, Kostal s.r.o., ZAT a.s., Kontron s.r.o., MBtech Bohemia s.r.o.).

Organization of the International conference

The conference "International Conference on Applied Electronics" has been organized by the department KEI since 1996 with the aim of providing a platform for researchers and experts who are interested in news in a wide range of electronic circuits and systems. Especially in the field of application of theoretical research. The conference is an opportunity not only for publishing, but also for meeting authors from the Czech Republic and abroad and for establishing new contacts.

Contributions must contain original work and applied ideas, including experimental results. All contributions are subject to peer review before being accepted by the international conference committee. The working language of the conference is English.

The conference is technically sponsored by IEEE and the proceedings are indexed in the IEEE Xplore, Thomson Reuters WoS and Scopus databases. Contributions to the anthology are rigorously reviewed.
